Default Smash!

Well my family's Stratus got rear-ended. Can anyone throw some guesstimates about whether or not this will be repaired or totaled?

But onto the pics

It got hit by a pick-up doing about 35, the car was stopped. All damage seen on the back was caused by the accident. Car is still drivable, and the alignment is not off. I'm not an expert, but it does look pretty bad to me. According to KBB, fair condition was $3,850.

Not that I can tell. Car drives straight. When you're driving it makes a few extra noises, but it feels the same as before

I'm no body man but if the value is $3850 on the car......it will most likely be totalled. Looks like more than the book value to me. If I had to guess...about $5000

Yup, I'd put good money on it being totaled.

Let me know if you need any help getting a replacement.....

First off...I'm glad nobody got hurt.
I'd be surprised if they don't total that out and let you keep the car to boot.
with a rear end hit you wont be able to tell if the frame is messed up from just driving it. Gotta drive behind it and see if it's crabbing. Even then there's no guarantee, it can look straight but you may start wearing tires after 5k - 10k miles.

For a car like that, probably a total loss...

My mom wants one of those small pickups like a Ranger or an S10. she wants a 4 cylinder that has 4x4. And I wants to be affordable, so I can maybe try and pick up a daily as well. So show me some small trucks people. Remember, if it's affordable enough, I might be able to shoehorn another Stang out of this situation
