Default What I did to the Mustang today...

I've been wanting to tint my tail lights for a while now, so today I finally picked up some Nightshades and took care of that. I also used the nightshades on my marker lights in the rear bumper. Although they're mounted, I still have to wait a few days so that I can wet sand and polish the lights.

While I was out, I also picked up some 20% static tint to mess around with. It's darker than I wanted, but it was the only percentage available in static tint. I used it on my headlights and foglights and although it's purpleish, I really like the outcome. I'm not got to sacrifice my safety for looks, so I'm going to see how well my HIDs shine through tonight. I'm also pretty sure with the tint being so dark, it'll make me more of a cop magnet, which I don't need. I'm going to look into a lighter tint, possibly 35 or 50% just so the lights can blend with the color of the car more.

I have some black marker lights coming in the mail to replace the stock ones in the front. Until the new marker lights arrive, I've covered the stock ones with some of the spare static tint that I had left.

Onto the photos:

This is going to be looking a bit different soon as well.

I love the blacked out front look, especially with the fogs.

Ever though of using the night shades for the lights? Than you could make it as dark or as light as u wanted without messing with the static tint....the only 2 things is 1. be careful to apply evenly and full strokes so you don't get spotting. And the 2nd is that it will fade with time...but it is an easy fix but nice because it always comes off easy if need be

It looks great just like that! Looks like custom F150 HD Taillights....dark enough to look good and yet bright enough so people can see your brake lights.

Thanks guys. It was my intention to make the rear lights dark enough to look good, but not so dark that they A) hindered the ability to see my brake lights and B) get me unwanted attention.

It was also my intention to get the white in the reverse lights to blend in better (it was a big sore spot for me), and honestly I love the look of the deeper red with the Nightshades.

WhiteStallion, I went with the static tint just to get an idea of what my lights would look like if they were tinted. I did think about using Nightshades on them as well, but it is too permanent for me. I'd like to have something where if I ever get tired of it, or worse, pulled over for it, I can just rip off the tint and be done with it. Therefore, if I look into lighter tint for the headlights and foglights, it's going to be static tint again.

Looks great man! I really like the way the tail lights came out. Is it just me or does the static tint look purple? How's the visibility with that on there?

I did the static tint on my fogs for a while. It did decrease light output noticeably. It looked killer though.

It isn't you, it does look purple. I'll have to be sure to check out what the stuff looks like when I order lighter tint.
