Ford Enthusiasts are welcome to post their NJ, NY, or PA Track Events, Rentals, or Meet-ups here. Some of the popular Mustang tracks: Island Dragway, Englishtown Raceway, Atco Racetrack;
Hey guys! If anyone loves to whip their stangs or any other type car in the twisties, then this is for you! I have been attending autocross events several times over the past years and it's so much fun. I know this is last minute, but there is one tomorrow in the a.m. at Giants Stadium. It's local for us NJ folks so that's cool! If anyone wants to go check out autox4u.com and find the link to register. You still have till 4pm to register online. You may be able to still show up and pay if you didn't meet the online deadline, but don't quote me on that.
If you can't make this one there are many others scheduled, but some are a little far. They have one last one oct.29 in the giants stadium site if you can't make this one. Check it out guys it will be a great time! Weather will be perfect for it! So far there are 77 registered. All types of rides, but mostly imports. Tasteful ones, not loud obnoxious civics.

Great to see other members from here going out! I usually make it to most the NNJR events, but I've gotta put new hubs on my car tomorrow (Damn autocross slicks wore my bearings out real quick)
Tons of imports, but yeah they're usually really cool cars (function > form)... also a good amount of cool muscle cars and mustangs
Yeah it's a great experience. Sad to see you need to replace parts. Unfortunately, it comes with the hobby over time. Hope you get back out there soon. Seems there aren't many fans of things different such as autocross on this site. Guess all that matters to peeps here are shows and cruises.

Since the repaving with the new stadium, the meadowlands has one of the best lots for autocross in the whole country. Nothing beats fresh pavement and FAST autocross courses over a minute long. Between all the clubs that share it now (SCCA PCA, MSNE, and others) they're often booked both days of every weekend. Though for this summer they raised prices significantly so there were a few less events.
The etown lot was getting worse and worse, and when the meadowlands opened up NNJR SCCA and PCA switched completely to the that lot, with the exception of one or so events at the Etown roadcourse events.

Yep that new pavement is a breath of fresh air. It's so awesome to run on. But with street tires it's tough as nails to stay glued especially with my car and its instant boost/torque. I was sliding alot. Time to save up and get me some stickies.
Lucky for me the clubs have shifted their events to GS. I live like 5 minutes from there. I get to sleep in a little more hehe!

I'm the opposite, I was 20 minutes from Etown, The stadium is over an hour... but it's absolutely worth the extra drive!!
The pavement is also 20x better on your tires than etown... My old RA1's were torn up and looked almost dead, after one day in the meadowlands they looked brand new again. Careful with R-comps though, They're like crack, and you can NEVER go back once you start.
Dude that sucks you have to come from far away now. But like you said the track conditions are well worth it. I believe you about the r-comps. So many guys use them at these events. I spoke to one dude and he claimed it to be so great from his street tires that he didn't know why he didn't get them sooner. Just stinks I can't get a set yet since they aren't cheap. In my case I will need wheels as wheel so I can swap them out easier. Have nice blingy CCW's for the spring/summer and my stockers for the fall/winter. Now I need another set for the r-comps.

Yup, I just troll around looking for every cheap set I can find, (both rims and race tires) The search never ends.
It is good to take a bit of time before switching to r-comps because they hide, but don't solve alot of bad driving habits. I personally think I made the switch a bit too early, but I found a price and the price was right so I jumped on it.
hey I'm all for it. I always am surfing ebay and forums to find good deals on parts/goods for the car. It's an addiction! LOL! No shame in trying to save money in the name of racing. Maybe I will keep that advice in mind and invest next year. Should probably get the kinks out of my driving habits, if there are any.
