Default Track Day - Lime Rock 06.06.11

Well ... here is the video of a great day. I know you can piece together a better set up than the Trak Pak set up I run ... but I purchased all the Roush Trak Pak stuff. All of it works together.

I surprised a lot of people (including myself) today with my NA car. Guys with track dedicated cars and guys with more experience then me. Well I got by them once and some times twice! And none of them got by me Pretty good for an NA car with a desperate need for a dyno tune.

Here is the first video .. more to come.

After reviewing the video .. I still have work to do ...

awesome. turn 1 there is loooong and it looks like you misjudged it the first time around but after that each time it looks like u corrected a bit each time and eventually got it aced around 4:15 on the video... all the other corners looked great imo. nice job.

Thx for the constructive criticism. I am still learning. SO I always like to hear what people have to say. Turn one is kinda tricky. My instructor wanted me to come in close to the right and turn in at the "1" marker. Easier said than done. Most people will hang out to the extreme left and cut in that way. I will watch the video and see what you are talking about.

cool. yeah watch from 4:00 to 4:20 it looks like what you explained is exactly what you did. looks very smooth and the line was executed well.

learning? you are kickin ass. much more of a pro then you think.

fav part is from 4 : 30 to 5:45 when you reel that car in from far away in a minute and pass him on the inside of that tight right turn. awesome

It is girlie racing like you say .. its like bowling with those bumpers in the gutters so you dont throw a gutter ball!

But having said that ... a Bow Tie Camaro bit the dust in front of me at going into turn two. I kept my line and by the time I got to him he was off the track. (big flat bed bill I am sure)

But Lime Rock is a blast. It is hard to really appreciate the elevation changes unless you drive it. If you see the turn under the bridge .. it goes down steep and a right onto the main straight. It is like a roller coaster. I learned not to break down that hill. And as soon as you turn into the apex you need to nail it to get going down the straight. Hell ... I was scared the first few times. But my instructor in the first season told me to trust my tires . I did ... and it worked.

Well confidence in the car is important.

I now have the 6 piston brakes, suspension, tires and some other mods .. oh ... the hood pins also were key. I no longer worry about it opening on me. So I trust my car a lot more and because of that I am able to 100% concentrate on driving!

When is the next race for you guys?

Well, it's not really all that girlish race wise...what I think you really need to do is always nail it in the apex and with some Rob Zombie blasting on the stereo, they'll be no stopping you :P

The next scheduled roll over (did I say that?) will be a night race at Grandview on June 18th...a 40 lapper, first time under the lights! Limited to 27 cars that is already filled with a waiting list for drop outs. After that is a regular afternoon 100 lap race, same place on July 3rd.
