Ive been trying different products over the years. Zaino is very good no complaints, same with Meguiars Gold Class and other waxes they offer. I currently used Poorboy's stuff on my 95 GT. The car looked horrible oxidized beat and dull. The Super Scratch Remover(SSR) and polishes reallly made the car look new. I started with SSR2 with an Orange pad. Pro Polish with the White pad, topping it with a Poorboy's Black hole glaze and wax by hand. I just started using collinite 845, I think its great.

If I had more of the SSR 1 and 1.5 I could have gotten the finer scratches out. I blame my inexperience with a buffer. It came out great for my first time using one.

If I was to try another product it be Meguairs 105/205.

I highly recommend M105

A combo of M105 + Lake Country Purple Foamed wool is the shiznit.
I've been able to achieve nearly one step LSP ready finishes with the above combo.

Oh and I LOOOVE Collie 845 as well. Its such a versatile/durable/great looking wax. And you cant beat the price either.
I think I've done about 10 cars with this wax(multiple applications) and still have over 1/2 bottle left...

Ill have to give 105 a try then. I only used the buffer once, so I need to try different pads, I got everything out, but there is still some light scratches.

The 845 is awesome, and if you do hit plastic or rubber trim, it doesn't leave any marks to clean off. I love it.

I have a ritual before car shows. What I do is wash my car in dish soap to completely strip the old wax coat. AGAIN DON'T DO THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO STRIP THE CURRENT WAX COAT!!!! Then I spray it down real good and let it dry. From there I clay it to get out any dirt that may have reached the clear coat. From there any fine lines or scratches I use an orbital polisher with polishing compound to square them up. I like the Random Orbital Polisher better than the buffer because, if I screw up with a buffer and burn my paint, I'm screwed, I gotta take it to a professional to get fixed. There is nothing I can do with a ROP that I can't get out with a ROP, might extend my detail time by a few hours but it's safer. After I get out all the scratches/imperfections I can and I am satisfied I bust out some carnuba wax and use the polisher to put that on as well. I usually use Meguires or Mothers products. A big, Big, BIG +1 on MEGs NXT next gen waxes. The depth in my black paint was INSANE after using that product.

Not a big fan of those "spray on" waxes, neither the spray on, wipe off nor the spray on while wet and let dry. I don't think either one really does much and if you're going to do it, you might as well do it right and use good wax and get it done right.

+1 greenscobie, forgot about the M105, it's been a while since I used it, but that stuff is good.
