Default Decisions: New 99-04 Mustang Headlights or Sequential Tailight Kit?

Hey everyone,

I've finally got the money to do some mods. I'm having trouble deciding between getting new headlights (mine are all cloudy), or getting a sequential taillight kit. The headlights would be these:

Give me your opinion on what you all think would be a better first mod. My other concern is just making sure that those headlights are legal in New Jersey, so if any of you are familiar with headlight laws it'd be great if you could let me know.

Hmm well are the headlights hurting your ability to see at night? Or are you just doing it for the looks? Personally im not a fan of those lights in chrome. They look a liitle gawdy to me. They are perfectly legal as long as you dont put hids in them by the way. Sequentials are great but aren't very beneficial. It's up to you i mean the headlights would improve your sight if your headlights are shot and thats never a bad thing

My headlights are decent still as far as visibility at night, I'm really just looking for something that improves the looks and isn't too expensive because of my budget right now (nothing over $200 basically)

I bought my headlights for $100 shipped. They are aftermarket stock looking smoked headlights. The chrome headlight are not my thing. I would do headlights before the sequential tail lights.

I have the smoked headlights from American muscle and I absolutely love them! I would definitely suggest them. I'm really not a fan of the chrome ones but if you really like them, get them.

It seems like everyone is leaning towards smoked headlights, which I also like. Another option I just found for a cheap mod:

Such a tough decision haha

Well you definitely have a different taste than me that's for sure. Not a big fan of those either. I'm for subtle touches but those scream to me.

I don't necessarily think that it's a difference in taste, I think it's more of how I'm feeling lately. I've wanted to do some appearance modding for years now, and I've either had phases where I just wanted to spend my money on other things, or I just didn't have the money. Now I finally have the money and I'm ready to go ahead and start modding, all of my desire to do this for so long has just built up and it makes me want to do something drastic haha. That's why I decided to post here, so that everyone can help me make the decision and prevent me from doing something stupid, and I do appreciate all the feedback.

Those taillights are on the verge of looking ricey to me, and they are very drastic, but I think they do look good judging from the customer pictures and they do change the entire look of the car, I just honestly can't make a decision.

Well I would say a little ricey too. Me personally I would just get tinted tails. No LEDS or anything. Stock tinted tails. I know a lot of mustang have them, and I don't know if you're trying to stand out and go a different route. To each their own.
