Default Ford Mustang Plug Recommendations? Bosch Irdiums Platinums, MotoroCraft, Autotlites?

Looking for plug recommendations for my 2007 Ford Mustang GT

I just got a new MSD coil, wires, cap & rotor kit to change out my old stuff and I was wondering what plugs people are using these days. I have heard lots from some friends using Bosch Iridiums and Platinums, but at the local parts shop the guy reccomended Autolites or Motorcraft as they are designed specifically for our cars? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

They are 100% right. OEM plugs are the best to run in our cars. For the new edge they also recommend NGK plugs. But i would go with Autolite or motorcraft. I have a full MSD in my 65 with autolites.

never ever ever ever ever use bosch they are the shittiest plugs money can buy. i put them in my 84 and they lasted about 5 hours before they all went bad and started misfiring. run motorcraft, autolites or ngk v power. also do not put platinum or iridium plugs in the 5.0 it will burn them up very fast only use copper plugs.

Hack, I got Autolite platinums because they were pretty cost effective and reccomended as they could handle more voltage than the coppers by what the parts guy at the shop was saying. I don't drive the car that frequently as it is a pleasure vehicle, how fast do you think these will burn up? And other than shortened life what is the downside?

Anything that is a 1-piece design like the Champion plugs

platinum plugs just dont respond very well to the 5.0 engine. the autolite 25's are the ones you want, and unless you are getting your plugs from a speed shop do not listen to the guys behind the counter at autozone or pep boys or any of those shops. all they know are numbers they dont know what preforms best. i was behind a guy at autozone and he asked for a good plug for his car. they guy behind the counter suggested bosch triple platinums. i told the guy you dont want those your want the OEM motorcraft plugs and which were almost $9 less a plug.

There have not been any great leaps in spark plugs in many many decades. The only real advantage of platinum/iridium is that the temps they achieve help them to self clean easier. So really if you are looking at plugs all you really need to look at is a similar material and temperature range.

Hack, I ended up taking your advice and returned the platinums for plain copper autolites. All is installed and running well. Thanks for the advice.

your welcome. just remember that the manufacturer chose the plugs they put in their car for a reason. they know they will work better than other plugs out there. you also dont want to put ac delco or champions in a ford, you dont want to put autolites motorcraft champions in a gm, and you should only put champions in a chrysler product.
