Default Painted Stock 17" Bullitts wheels flaking off?

So i originally thought it was just the one wheel but now almost all 4 of my stock 17" silver bullitts have started to flak off the clear coat around the center cap and really are starting to look terrible.

Now these are my winter time rims so i'm not too concerned about how they look, but i was wondering if i am the only one that this is happening to? I mean my rims are only 3.5 years old which is still fairly young IMO. I clean them and store them for the summer for the past 2 summers too. They don't get cleaned everyday during winter but at least once a week, and i powerwash them when i get to the touchless wash.

The bullitts I have on my car have gone through at least 2 winters and are on there year-round and I haven't seen any problems like that. I'll double check, but you could have a defective set. Any curb rash on them?

its possible salt could eat them up too....I loved the look of mine but they just didn't work with my car, the finish was brand new under even though it did see alot of salt driving, not snow but still salt, I just washed them often (don't like salt on my car period) lol

oh man I know! My mustang would look like my truck if you've ever seen it in the winter after a snow storm. Not fun, definitely agree its not easy, especially when the water freezes before or as it hits your car (seen that happened lol)

Most c.c. wheels will start flaking around the center caps or any flat edge. The least area covered. I had a Stratus R/T where only one wheel cracked and flaked after about 3 years in both locations. The other 3, perfect.
