HID's like kev said, are plug and play. Takes longer to decide where to hide the ballast then actually to install the lights.
He hit the nail on the head... There are several good shops in Lodi on Rt 46 like Rayco who could handle this for you. It should take them no more than an hour on a plug & play setup.

Has anyone tried upgrading their lights to the ford factory HID light assembly? I heard it is a big ta-do soldering diodes in the fuse panel etc.

yea thats why i went aftermarket. It was around $65 for my high/low beam HID headlights and about a 15 min install. The OEM ones are freeking expensive, like $500 something option so i'd imagine just as much if you add them yourself, not to mention labor too.

I lucked out and found a HID assembly from a 2010 to try out, and I can see that the HID has a 4 prong plug into the bulb, but the harness only has 3 prongs. Someone sent me a detailed assembly for a 2008 conversion for the HID, and you had to buy a harness from Ford and solder two diods in some sort of grey junction box.

I'd much rather do aftermarket at that point. I guess I'll just sell these things.
