So you all know I bought a hood i was wondering it says hood pins required. Are they really? Does anyone not have them or are they just trying to get $150 from me. Ive seen cars without them, so can someone please help?

As someone who has made composite hoods, yes, get the hood pins.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Aero Catch pins. They are super nice quality and fit flush.

Wow,, didn't realize how cheap you can get them now....

Don't get locking pins. It's a horrible thing if you need to open your hood quickly (in the case of a fire or something) and you spend precious time fumbling with keys.

Default Hood pins ?

Spoke to the owner of a 2009 GT 500 @ the 10/10/10 cruise. He said he added hood pins on his car after his hood blew open @ speed. If the design of the front end will allow air to get up under the hood, then the pins are a good safety addition.

yes its highly recommended that you get hood pins on all aftermarket hoods cause they dont test them like the stock hood.
