Unhappy Tire Woes - I'm Screwed!

Just like the title says... I picked up a screw in my tire (see images below).
It's on my 2010 GT, 19" Perelli Zero's with only 7800 miles.
Unfortunately it is too close to the sidewall to be repaired.

Couple of questions for you...
I'm thinking I should replace 2 and not just do the one side. Agreed?, or could I do just the 1 being there's only 7800 miles?

I'm looking at tirerack.com, $191 each, shipped. Does anyone know a better/cheaper place?

Thanks!

With only 7800 miles you could get away with just replacing one.

When they said they could not fix it I guess you mean having them patch it right? I know that is the best way to do things but my mechanic plugged one of my nitto's about 9 months ago. I was just a little more towards the center (right near the first groove) and have had no problems. If you can find someone to just plug it and then I would put it on the rear for now. Could at least buy you sometime to maybe find a deal down the road on a new one or a pair when you have some more miles on them.

Just my .02

I would plug it. You can buy a plug kit from any Autozone or pepboys very easy to use. Just need a little muscle. If you do it yourself make sure to get a kit with the bonding glue.

Thanks! Really, you would plug it? I know how, I've plugged many a tire over the years, just not sure I like a plug that close to the sidewall. And it was both patching or plugging it they would not do. It was the Ford dealer, and I also went to Goodyear.

I would plug it and like I said, put it on the rear for now. Remember that places like the dealer and Goodyear will always try and sell you a new tire. They may also have some insurance issues doing a plug that is in a "questionable" area of the tire. Just plug it, put it on the rear and watch the pressure for a week or so. If you have no problems I think you will be fine. I mean you are not going up to Limerock every weekend right?

Don't plug it have the tire pulled off and patched on the inside.

No, I'm not, lol. I think it was the "questionable" area of the tire issue, Goodyear said they wouldn't even be able to get that tire, but they would mount it for me if I got one elsewhere. The dealer, of course, would sell me one for $241.

Thats what I wanted to do Dan, but I need to find someone to do it! The search continues...thnx

If you can't find someone to patch it from the inside I would plug it. I've plugged tires till I got to a place to have it patched. If you have a Vespia near you try them. Thats who has patched mine in the past and they did some "questionable" areas on my trucks tire.
