Question Torque converter help

Anyone swapped there torque converter for a high stall one on a 4R70W trans? I'm looking to do mine but don't know what's the best or most reliable one to get, ive looked at Monster transmission and B&M, any recommendations?

Spend the money on a converter that fully locks. if not you will hate it on the street and it will send your gas milage down the toilet. Contact whomever you chose, tell them what your goals are, street, strip / strip only etc... weight of car, power you are laying down roughly etc. If they are good they will also offer to re-stall it for free for a period of time just to be sure you are happy.

I would look at tci too but keep in mind they build good stuff but they are more cookie cutter which may or may not suit your needs depending on what you are looking for.

def get a lockup convertor like mentioned above. a non lockup will constantly sit at high rpm and gas mileage and driveability go out the window. the purpose of a higher stall convertor is so when you hit the gas the motor is in a higher rpm range providing more power and sooner instead of waiting for the rpms to build. with that said it is hard to judge what stall speed to get. I would suggest you list what mods are on the car and especially what kinda tires you run. generally for a typically mild mod street car on street tires with the usual 3.73-4.10 gears you'd want a low stall around 2400. if you run sticky tires than a 3000 would work well. I've used the TCI ones before with good luck.

Hey thanks for the input, yup I'm looking for a lockup one since I'm still gonna be driving on the street, I'm thinking 2400 stall as well, engine is stock with bolt-ons and 3.73 rear with nitto 555 street tires and a stock cam, but my main reason for getting it is the nitrous, I spray at 3k on first gear right now and looking to activate it earlier on the launch, so a higher stall will let me do that, tci converters are like double the price of B&M or monster that's why I ruled them out , but will definitely take a look at the ones chris and Dan mentioned above.
