Default Wave Etiquette?

Everyone knows of the motorcycle "wave etiquette". Slightly waving or nodding to a passing biker as an acknowledgment of your biker brotherhood/sisterhood. I also understand this exists for Jeeps as well, although I have no experience with this.

Being a new Mustang owner, I assumed this brotherhood/sisterhood might also exist with Stang owners. I'm not sure this is the case though. I find myself driving down the road, passing a fellow stanger, giving an acknowledging wave/nod, but receive nothing in return.

Is there no "wave etiquette" for Mustangs?
If not, am I crazy for thinking there should be?
Am I the only one acknowledging other Stangers on the road?
If I am, should I stop?
Does anyone here wave/nod to passing Stangs?

Just curious!!

I noticed it's usually the ones that are modified that tend to do it back. Them and usually anyone in a classic you give either 'the nod' or a wave of some sort.

One guy flew past me in a Lincoln Mark VIII a few weeks back and gave me a thumbs up....didn't think anyone still did that lol.

It's DEFINITELY a Jeep thing...

Pretty cool. But I find the newbies in those sissified 4-doors that NEVER go off-road don't wave. Hummer wannabies. But I'm not biased!

Now motorcycles are a "point" towards the road. Watch the harley riders. They have it down pat. See VMAX below. I sold mine in 2005. arrrgh!!

I get the urge to wave at fellow stangs, but never seem too. Maybe I should.

it depends on the person. if they are just driving it as a car and have no love for it, they generally dont wave. I tend to try to catch up and wave or smile at a nice stang. or even try to pint out the njstangers sticker on my car in hopes that they join. i have gotten many waves and nods, maybe you just have come into contact with some people who dont love mustangs like we do

I give a nod to modified cars and sometimes GT's (sorry, no stock v6's, they rarely even look at me). The girlfriend still makes fun of me though.

This subject has come up on other mustang sites many times. Most stangers do not wave to each other, why I do not know.
