Default 2013 Shelby GT500 Mustang NJ to receive new 5.8L Engine

The new 2013 Shelby GT500 Mustang in NJ will have the 5.8 Liter V8 with a Supercharger! Anyone looking to buy a 2013 Shelby GT500 Mustang in NJ, NY or PA?

Been doing a lot of reading all throughout the internet today and it looks like Ford just pumped $50million into their Romeo engine plant in order to create a 5.8L engine for the shelby to be pair with a TVS2300 twin-screw supercharger to create over 600 HP right from the factory. As many of you know, this supercharger can boost at significantly higher levels them the Eaton M112 that currently comes on the GT500's. Expect a monster!

The question remains how they will get the 5.8 though, if they are going to increase the size of the existing 5.4 or if they are going to work from the 5.0 coyote motor

Im kinda thinking they will retain the 5.4 aluminum block because they know that block is strong and they can just stroke it to 5.8

Do you think there's enough room in the 5.0's to grab almost another liter of displacement?

it wouldnt be exactly a 5.0 block they would raise the deck height like they did between the 4.6 and 5.4 to get the length for longer rods

Ah gotcha. So would that be a completely different block or some kind of extension?

it would be a modification of the 5.0, just using the same platform. But i agree with dan that it makes more sense to go from the strong 5.4 block to 5.8. It also seems the cheaper way to go as well. And coming stock with 600+ HP and that twin-screw, you better believe it that they are going to have some nice and beefy internals in this engine

Sorry Matt, the second one is to replace the first one after I crash it within the first 10 seconds of driving in the rain. Haha.
