Mustang tears the 2009 sales crown from the Camaro
The Ford Mustang has outsold the Chevy Camaro. Granted the Camaro went on sale starting June 2009 the Mustang still sold more units then the Camaro ( even though the Camaro has been on a 6 year hiatus and all the Camaro fan boys, those who work for GM building the Camaro, those that just have to have the newest products). The Mustang has sold 66,632 units while the Camaro sold 61,618 units. Last month the Mustang sold 6,327 which is a 62 percent sales increase. With the 412 hp 5.0L Coyote engine coming to market the pony car sales race is going to heat up and is going to be more interesting. In my opinion the race is going to be close with the new 5.0L and the Track Pack the Mustang is going to be a ground pounding monster. More good news from Ford Motor Company. In December Ford posted a 37% volume increase and a 27% daily sales rate over December of 2008. Even though the auto industry has taken a beating over the last year Ford has seen a 14% decrease in its volume over the year but has seen it's market share increase to 15%. The first time since 1995 that Ford has gained on its competitors.[/CENTER]
