Default Alpine Type-R 2-ways (SPR-68)

Just installed the newest two ways a few hours ago, I have the shaker 500 in my stang as most of you do. These speakers are amazing and do not flaw whatsoever, you can blast your music as high as you want and the clarity will remain the same, unlike the shaker speakers. I just bought one pair to test, and put em in my front doors, the difference is clear, these babies are amazing, I recommend them highly. I plan on possibly amping them later on to see their full potential, which is at 100 W RMS.... right now they are at who knows what as the shaker produces hahaha. Once again, they are great speakers, install time (since Ive taken my door panel off before) was about 45 minutes for both doors, very simple install.

Good to know. I see you went with the Crutchfield "Staff Pick" for the 2010+ Mustang. Where did you get them? This might be a future consideration for me too. The stock system is loud enough for me but it's a bit muddy. How much better are they at lower volumes?

The alpines sound a little bit better than the shaker speakers WHEN KEPT STOCK AMPED.... My buddy has them in his QX4, amped with the alpine power pack on an alpine iDA H/U (FYI 45W RMS X 4), they sound amazing in his car. He has 4, like I do now as of 2 hours ago (My second pair just got here for my rear deck and I installed em this morning). But amped with the alpine power pack, the speakers sound amazing. Much better than in my car amped with the shaker amps (give or take 15-22 W RMS x 4 on shaker amps). So use your head, they sound about 2-3 times louder than they do stock, which is very loud, plus with the alpine H/U the clarity is unbelievable. I will be doing this setup as soon as Schosche comes out with their dash kit. Either way though, stock or not the alpine type Rs are a great buy, I got em for 160$ a pair, use COUPON CODE 3A825 at checkout and you will get 20 bucks off your order. And yes from Crutchfield, so worth it, and if you need help installing, you can PM me, or call their tech support, I have detailed instructions in my head for what to do exactly, plus every problem I encountered and fixed.

Yea, I plan on buying the power pack. I mean I dont really need 100 x 4 rms.... I think double/triple what I have now (already loud) will be plenty haha
