Well after the horror of getting a stone chip in my new hood (less than 3 weeks on the car) I knew I had to touch up the chip some how. I didn't want to go the normal touch up paint because well I have never ended up with a good end result. So after doing some research and reading some reviews I decide on the DR. Colorchip system. I went with the mid level system and it was $58 shipped, and it arrived in four days via USPS.

In the box are the directions, three brushes, one glove, one micro fiber towel, one cotton like cloth, color matched paint, and the blending solution.

The before on the hood after washing and drying the car. Pollen is kinda bad here and was laying quickly on the front of the car as I finishing drying the back grrrrrr.

I also had a few chips on the sides and wheel well lips that i was also going to try to fix.

I used the wide brush on all the chips. On their website the recommend using a brush and wipe method which I did. The recommended drying time before using the blending solution is at least two minutes. I apply ed the paint and went and vacuumed the car so the paint was left on for around 10 minutes.

The hood after the first coat of paint.

This is the door after three coats of paint with the first coat having a drying time of 10 minutes before the blending solution was applied. The second coat had a dry time of five minutes and the last coat I did the two minute time just to see if it was enough time. I did three coats to try to fill the chip as only doing one coat of paint seems to just paint the bottom of the chip and not actually fill the chip. Also forgive my nasty habit of biting my nails.

Finally how the hood looks from about four or five feet away. The chip is hard to see from this distance especially if you didn't know there was a chip there already. The doors and wheel wells came out better because the chips were shallow compared to the hood, I cant actually see where they were until I'm about a foot away from the panel surface.
Overall I'm very happy with the end result. I'm going to do a few more coats on the hood over time to see if I can fill the chip and get the paint all level. The only thing I would have done different would be to get the cheaper kit, as of right now I have enough paint and blending solution do do a couple hundred chips.
