Mine rattles too (05 with a hurst).....throw some Teflon tape on the hardware under the boot...worked for me. I suppose it all goes back to the whole "a car works best stock" saying

On Friday I'm having a new boot put on at my Ford dealer - it comes from Ford Racing (they had a bulletin regarding the rattling.) Can't imagine that it will cost much, but will post the results Friday evening to Saturday.

The boot replacement didn't help. Ford sent a leather type that wasn't for the Hurst/Ford Racing shifter, plus it didn't solve the problem. I thought they were sending a rubber boot that sits on the shifter. We are now talking about a new shifter. In the meantime, I took a small amount of bearing grease and stuffed into the contact point on top. It cut the rattle in half, but not gone. Going to try a little more grease.

Did Ford fix it yet? It's a shame you're having this problem. That's a nice ride. I really can't believe they didn't make more of these. It's a great package!

If you have to get a new shifter to resolve it, I've had good luck with Steeda but your mileage may vary.

Not fixed yet, I've been busy and will be for next couple of weeks. It should be covered under extended warranty, but have to start with the calls to Ford to find out. Its got to be the shifter - put some axel grease in the shifter and did knock it down for a week, but now its back.

Sorry to hear. Hopefully they won't drag out the warranty process.
