Default Looking for full time job in northern new jersey

Hey everyone,

I'm sure many of you know that I have been looking for a job since last June with no luck. So I have decided to post on here in hopes that someone can help me!

I'm looking for a full-time job that gives some flexibility since I am attending graduate courses at night. The ideal hours for me would be something like 7-3 or 8-4, depending on the area that I would be working in. I do have experience working with children and I would ultimately like to be in a school, but unfortunately I don't have teacher certification, so it would have to be as an assistant teacher. However, I do have experience with word, powerpoint, excel, outlook, I am the secretary of this club, so I am capable of secretarial duties. My ideal pay rate would be $30,000+ if it's salary, but if it's hourly somewhere between $13+ benefits would be a plus!

I have attached my resume for those who could use help or know of someone who needs it, if you need further information just pm me for it.

I have been thinking about doing that and it definitely would be good to have that as a fall back job, but I do want something with more permanence.

Well if you are going to do it, I suggest you start early because the hiring process is a little lengthy, you have to get your fingerprints taken and a bunch of other stuff. You can start the process while you are looking for a full time job in case the job search goes for longer than expected. The pay is decent in North Bergen I think it's around 80-90 per day, so something is better than nothing.

Good luck with the job search

Jan,

I wish you the best luck in finding a job. Looks like you know what you wanna do and thats awesome.

Just as a form of constructive criticism, have you thought about adding a skill set entry to your resume? that would give the recruiters more keywords to seek you out by.

Just a suggestion

Agreed. In today's talent management world, most resumes are pulled off the heap electronically, and they're done via bots that recognize search patterns based on key words. The more of the key words you have in your resume, they higher percentage match you come back with.

Just as a little more constructive criticism, your resume is very bare. You might want to change the simple bullet points to more complex sentences that allow you to better capture things. While my job experiences are much more focused on engineering than yours, take a look at how I have things worded and formatted on the attached resume capture, and see if you can draw experiences and skills out of the bulleted points you currently have.

I'll have to talk to Jonathan about helping me put in key words that have a high search rate. As far as my resume being bare, I spoke to someone who has done hiring of people in the past and actually helped me put that together, but hey if I need to fix it I will, just I really haven't had that many jobs and I really want to add fluff ya know. I want my resume to be specific and concise!

Specific and concise is important, but you really need to fill out the sheet so that it's not sparse looking. My wife is a corporate recruiter with about seven years on the job, and she's helped put together every resume I've ever done. It's never failed me!

Well I have another version of my resume I can put up on here, maybe you could ask your wife to help me out. I would greatly appreciate it!!!!

The resume that I just put up is actually the one that I had been using prior to changing it up, hopefully this is somewhat better, like I said maybe your wife could look at it?

Thanks!!!
