Very nice! looks like it's in damn good shape
Dearborn built, (July 15, 1964), purchased by original owner @ Boro Motors in Metuchen.
Restored by Richard Steinkopf in 1982± to 'as-delivered' condition. Won him Gold at MCA in concourse driven category. (Not sure of year. Got this info from the 01/97 issue of Mustang Monthly in which this car was featured, two page photo)! Also won him National 1st place in 1991 of the Antique Automobile Club of America contest. Still has both grill medallions! (Both medallions for AACA).
My Dad purchased the car from the owner that got it from Mr S. It sat in Pop's garage for 10± years. Late last summer, he was just trying to get rid of it, when it dawned on BOTH of us, that I might want it! I said yes, (with the wife's blessing, of course), and have gotten to work 'shoring it up'....
Really not far from being 'concourse driven' worthy again! Will need paint!
It's showing wear, having been 30 years since it was restored. Right front fender, especially, needs some TLC, spots of rust here and there, as well as paint peeling inside the lip. (Peeling only on THAT fender)!
The interior is the best part of the car, at this time! (Has center console).

170 CID I-6 (rare, but there's a REASON for that...everyone wants an 8)! Had the exhaust manifold gasket and donut replaced, now it no longer SOUNDS like it's got a big 8! Can hear the valves need adjusting though! No smoke, runs great! The guy(s) at Virginia Mustang tell me these motors are bullet proof!
Standard.
Drum brakes, all around. Bias ply tires, spinner hub caps.
Very nice! looks like it's in damn good shape

Thanks! It really is. It runs fine, (since my motor-head friend, who owned a NEW '65, plus over 200 cars over the years), did the tune up, points/condenser/cap/rotor/etc. Wanted to see that done, will probably go to electronic ignition, (fits under cap/won't effect if I ever enter it into MCA event(s)), NEXT tune-up.
Very nice and welcome to the club.
Thanks again! As I just posted elsewhere on this site, discovered it's an early build, July 1964±, according to the gentleman that restored it 30 years ago! I will get the serial number and confirm.
July 15, 1964 build date.
