Default Anyone here an residential electrician?

Hi all,
I was wondering what the cost to replace the 2 small electrical service panels in my soon to be house in Toms River. I want to replace the 2 small panels with 1 larger one that will have room to add additional circuts at later dates. I have yet to get any estimates but was just curious what this might cost me to have done. TIA, Mike.

Are they in the same place? Shouldn't be too much it would basically just be mounting and reorganizing/attaching the wires.

Yes, they are located in the same place one above the other one.

Yup. Shouldn't be too bad.

I have some friends who are electricians. Maybe one of them needs some side work. If not, I'd be willing to help out. I've wired up panels from scratch before. You should see the job I did with my detached garage. I dug the trench, ran the feed out to the garage, wired up the sub panel and everything in the garage myself. The only thing I had an electrician friend do is hook into the house panel, but after seeing him do it, I could have done it no problem.

Most electrical work is easy. The trick is doing it to code.

it depends on what feeder size you have now and what you plan on going with. Theres a little more to it than taking out wires and putting them into another panel. But just to give you an idea, say you only have 100 amps and wanted to upgrade to a 200 amp panel with 40 circuits. I normally charge $1800 for a 200 amp service, and that includes new wire, meter pan, grounds, panel and breakers. If its in a driveway and it needs pvc pipe and copper wire then your looking about $2200. Theres other options but thats just to give you an idea
