A clarification...
Sorry if I sound like an ass here (well I am anyway) but I'm sick of everyone complaining without actually knowing what they're complaining about! I'm not saying this applies to anyone here, mostly just my friends lol.
Anyway... For anyone who is still pissed about the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) or want's to know what it ACTUALLY DOES.
It does NOT give the president (or anyone for that matter) the right to detain American citizens without trial for no reason blah blah blah whatever they say.
It simply says that the president must hold foreign terrorist suspects (Al Qaeda) on military grounds in detention prior to trial.
Where the loopholes come in that freak everyone out... It ALSO allows individuals who are suspected of or have committed terrorist acts to go straight to trial without being held by the military.
Additionally, all final decisions that may be made on a case involving an American citizen will be made by the court. Not the president or some (other) shady member of the government.
So, nothing has changed for US citizens. It still stands that if you do something incredibly dumb, you're going to get in trouble for it.
I hope this helps clear things up for anyone interested.
