Default Good Place To Get An Alarm?

Does anyone know a good place to get an alarm? And what kind of alarm is good to get. I want something very secure and something that you can really hear when it goes off. Thanks.

Unfortunately the alarm wont really help you, talking from experience... I would recommend getting a 2 way viper unit. The fob itself will vibrate and beep if the alarm is going off within a 2 mile radius.

I'm actually looking into getting the Viper Smart Start system. If you have a smart phone (iphone/bberry/windows phone/etc) you can use that to start/lock/unlock your car from anywhere.

My alarm is avital. I love it. Its sensitive but not to sensitive. If the car is bumped in anyway it will alarm or if the door handle is pulled, a car w loud exhaust gets to close, or if some one leans against it. The alarm is very loud sounds like police siren and all the lights on the car will go off. There is also a light on the dash that will blink if the alarm has gone off. Mine was $250 w installation.

I'd talk to Jonathan about this. I know he has pretty good alarms in his stang and his truck. I'm sure he'll chime in when he reads this post.

By the way.... good luck with the Mach 1. I'll have to check it out on saturday.

I was very happy with the Avital in my '95. pretty easy to install and the 1/4 mile remote range was very nice (would have been nice if i hooked up the remote start, but didn't want to do that with the manual trans)

Hey Zippos in Belleville is where I got my last alarm installed on my F150 but don't pay retail for the actual alarm and parts. I've never paid more than 1/2 of what these alarms cost. I use to buy and sell them for a while, especially the Viper Smart Start(100) with iPhone/Android/Blackberry integration.

I installed one of those in my F150 along with the Viper 5901 kit, by far one of the best I've tried....my only annoyance is the chicklet alarm sound it makes, I have to find a louder one for it. Other than that, this kit is pretty good with different settings of security along with iPhone notices every time I accidentally unlock the car with the stock remote or kick a tire lol. But it does allow you to ulter the level of security and such.

I bought an Ultra start for my Mustang several years ago....(funny thing is i paid as much for that cheap version as I did for my Viper one installed in the F150). I'll be replacing that this winter or spring when I get some more good deals on the new Viper Smart Start with added features. I have the original 100 series in my F150, does the job just perfectly.

I'll show you mine on Saturday, browse around and see what you are considering and I'll help you get them for the cheapest price possible.

Hey Jon let me know if you can get any kind of discount on the smart start system from Viper. I'm really liking the idea of that setup!
