Default Penn. St. Scandal

So, I'm sure most of you heard about the penn. st scandal by now. Just curious to see what everyone's view is.

I think it's seriously twisted and wrong, but I'm sure its neither the first or last time it will happen. The fact that he admitted to it is simply proof that he did it. Doesn't make it any better.

He can't be charged for rape bc they're over 18 but it was probably consentual bc he probably offered something to them.

it's really just twisted but seems to be coming out of the woodwork for many people lately....i'm honestly surprised it didn't have to do with cheerleaders instead...

My middle daughter is a sophomore at the university park campus so we've been
following it pretty closely. Don't read the indictment unless you want to throw up.

I think Paterno and Spanier needed to go, I just think they should have handled it
better given all JoPa has done for the university. At the same time, it's sickening
to think of how many times over the years people had a chance to stop this and
didn't. I also question why the police got involved in 2008 and it takes 3 friggin
years to arrest the perp?

Rape has NO age limit. He absolutely can be charged with rape.

My sister graduated from PSU/University campus many moons ago and my whole family have always been PS fans. The whole thing is sickening.

Joe Pa should have told the police. THe school should have told the police. They did not want the school to get negative press. They took Sandusky's privledges away and told The 2nd Mile etc... but they should have told the police. They all should be fired.

Hello all,
I have not posted here in many months, but this topic has broken my silence.

This huge mess is very simple to deduce... it is all about the money involved with the Penn State football program. I spent the last week for work in PA, and the news coverage was nonstop. Here is something for all of us to ponder... isn't it just a little odd that Sandusky retired at age 55 as the #1 assistant coach in college football, and nobody offered him a head coaching position. One of the people I heard interviewed was explaining how the college football community is beyond tight knit, and that while it was kept covered up, it was known that this guy was a pervert. Again, follow the money... I learned this week that the Penn State football program earns $70,000,000 a year for that school... to put that into perspective, considering the players are not payed, that team is more profitable than the Eagles. It has been estimated that Paterno and the program has pulled in well over $1,000,000,000...follow the money...

Now to that student coach who caught that scumbag in the shower... when you see a 55yr old guy blowing a 10yr old kid, shouldn't your first thought be kick the living bat snot out of him, then your second thought would be call the cops??? No, he opted to go home, talk to his dad about it, then tell Paterno the next day a light version of what he saw... follow the money...

I know many here are huge sports fans ( I am not one at all...hence a little bias for what I am about to say), but this nations perverse fascination with sports teams is disgusting. Does it really make a difference in your day if team x wins or loses? You still have to go to work on Monday...

All involved here were concerned about the schools reputation and the money it brought in... now it is shot, and all of Paternos old school coaching philosophy is seem as a sham. How much more upstanding would his reputaion be if he did morally what he should have done...call the cops...? Instead he did the "legal" thing he was required to do..report to his boss and let it slide... Sandusky was a close friend of his, but there is a time and place where friendship flies out the window. You know, like when you are told your friend is sodomizing a 10 yr old kid... once more, follow the money...

Well that is the end of my rant, feel free to blast me for it
