Default problem with CAI

So I got a BBK CAI from another member last night and installed tonight. When i started car is was idling rough and i could smell the gas. I turned car off and swapped back old one and it ran fine. Any clue what problem could have been??

hmmm you may need a tune? Even though I thought New edges could get away without one.

Yea you have to plug any holes that are not used. The hole may be for an intake air sensor that your car does not use. Sometimes they are intrgrated into the MAF. If you were running it with a hole in it then the motor was getting un-metered air and that could be the problem. Your car should not need a tune for just a cai.
