Default 35x12.5 Nitto Trail Grapplers or 35xx12.5 BF Goodrich KM2 Mud Terrains

Since I've gotten the perspective of many on other forums, I figured I'd ask it. I have some extra time before I get them since Mac's shocks couldn't wait another 1.5 months.

I'm looking at the BFGoodrich tires All Terains in 35x12.5x18 which are $200-$350 more than the Nitto Trail Grapplers in the same size.

Truck: 04 F150 with 33 BFG A/Ts

Some guys tell me to get Trail Grapplers while others tell me to spend the extra money and get the BFGoodrich tires Mud Terrains.

I currently have the A/Ts and love them, just want a more aggressive thread for my wider wheels.

Had the MT's on my old Jeep, I loved them. No experience with the Nitto's though.

Have you looked into the BFG KM2's? They are more aggressive and work well on the street and the trail, I've seen them in both situations. The mud tires don't work as well on wet surfaces and wear down faster than the A/Ts and the KM2's.

Essentially, I thought the KM2s were the same as the Mud Terrains, just a specific version of them?

I've heard the same about aggressive on and off the street for the trail grapplers too which still has me undecided

If that helps: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/bfg/bfgoodrich-tires.jsp

The KM2's are a combination of all terrain and mud terrain patterns. The treads are tighter packed in the middle like the all terrains and have larger gaps and larger lugs on the outside like the mud terrains, so you get the best of both worlds. Our blacksmith picked them up after getting stuck a bunch of times in his F350 during the bad winter, and they never failed him. My buddy has also used them on the trails and in the rain on his F150 and they've done great.

Unfortunately, I've got no experience with the Nittos, so I can't help you in that area.

Very true guys....I did hear that they improve the noise level from the regular Mud Terrains which have been replaced with the Km2 as Wink mentioned.....reviews on the Mud Terrains KM2s seem very positive with increased rain handling, better than it's pre-predecessor version

Do you have to run a E load tire on your truck? I have been thinking about larger tires for my truck as well but really dont want any added road noise.
