very informative....well all I have is an empty bay further south (have to add pictures) would like to keep my Radio and add my GPS unit (Pioneer Avic F500BT) which is narrow but the size of a double din some where above it and lower the radio (so I'm not looking down when driving to look at the GPS (seeing as though the damn thing doesn't stay suctioned to the window) everytime I hit a pothole it goes flying lol

^ LoL

Actually I have a din for a smoking port (just one switch for the whole entire din) (waste of space since I don't use it and have an electric port off to the side. If that can be eliminated. I'd have another double din section for the GPS

Pics will be up in a few

Noise filters bad. Its a cheap fix for a problem that needs to be solved correctly. Ive used em and it hurts the sound quality. Moving around wire routing and grounds will fix noise. And ive found that was a bigger problem in the 80s. Somehow newer cars have quieter electrical systems.

But other then that, yes, definitley buy from crutchfield, theyre the best cuz they give you detailed instructions and have all the dash kit stuff you need. And theyre cheap!

On an elaborate head unit, id run a fresh power wire, rather then use the ones behind the dash. They draw alot of power.

ah okay, heres the only picture I was able to upload at work

See the cigar liter followed by the empty draw (useless) but both can be made useful if I can move the other stuff down and keep the Navi on top where the radio is it and put the radio under it? Am I over thinking it? lol

Honestly, man If there is a Gap Between the Double din, just get a cubby hole for it.

It should fit with no problems.

Im guessing you dont want to change the radio? They make some really nice double din units that have navi/bluetooth/cd/iPod hook ups.

I have a Pioneer Avic D3 in my Exploder and it does all the above in one double din space. just a thought
