Default F150 Brake Work Question

So i was hearing this grinding/ticking sound from the driver side brake pad for the last 2 days, thought my pads were worn down badly, so finally got to replacing them today, they weren't bad but the backings did fall apart from being all rusted...put it all back together with new pads...

Problem is that i still here the tick/grind sound as the truck moves and when I apply the brakes......what did I miss? Bad caliper assume?

P.S. So my truck has this issue and my dad's van has some horrible squeaky brakes with new pads that he put on a few months ago too.

Anyone experts, post up since I'm curious if I should even worry too much about it or if I need a new caliper....rotors were fine.

your truck could be a wheel bearing, and your dads van is just prob the pads, i think certain types still squeak even when new, you could try some brake cleaner (new shoe) and spray it up in case theres some dust in there

ah 2nd person to tell me a wheel bearing......lovely lol....more money to dump into repairs...
I will just get a video of it since I have a camera now and then we'll know........thats something i do not know how to change.

and we are going to change his pads again since they just don't stop....hopefully that'll solve it along with some cleaning of the brake rotors and calipers.

but I pretty much get the idea of where they are located, but my truck isn't howling, I just her the tick/ or grind or whatever it is while coasting at city speeds.

i was guessing wheel bearing just because theres not much else that would make a grinding noise, only other thing i can think off would be something with the 4 wheel drive

alright so this is easier then facebook so I drove it to work...was doing the sound in town but once I hit the highway it was gone.....got to work, rolled it around and couldn't hear it....it sounds like the pad was grabbing something on the rotor as the truck was moving slowly....now I just smell a little burn smell so maybe the pad ate away at it....guess what I'm doing this weekend now again? Check it and seeing if I have replace the rotor too or not...probably should just eventually replace the fronts since the truck does have 60k
