thats what i am thinking but not hundred percent sure because like i said one side of the switch works but the other side does not which brings up a possibility of a lose wire or connection to that side of the switch either way i may have to go junk yard shopping because the only other place to get that switch is the dealer
try ebay or craigslist or better yet, try rockauto.com. parts are way cheaper there rather then autoparts store and im sure they will have your switch. let me know.
possible bad ground in the door panel for the wiring harness was kind of hopeing i could get by with changing out the switch but that may not be the case i don't think its a safety design because why would it take 10 years to finally start working properly maybe i am not explaining right the switch does not work to unlock all the doors while the door is open but the switch works to unlock all the doors once the door is closed gotta love a ford
It's possible someone over there w/ the same year Exp. might have encountered the same issues as yours and you may find the answer/fix quicker.
Have you removed the switch assembly from the door armrest to examine it - and the underlying wires that are pressed into the plastic grid that the switches plug into? Have you tried swapping the defective switch with another - it can easily be done by just pulling the individual switches out of the grid and swapping places. If you get another switch to work, then you know you just need a switch. If that does not work, then you need to probe the wires to the grid - or do the wiggle test. The only other area to check then would be the actual wire harness that is inside of the rubber loom where the door meets the A-pillar, as it's quite possible the wires inside have broken due to constant open/closing of the door (believe it or not, this is common on vehicles that are used very often, many makes/models of vehicles) - and the fix is to remove the rubber loom and examine the wires for any cracked outer casings, or actual wires broke in half.
