Default Shock Upgrade Options for a 04 F150 5.4 SuperCab

I know this is more of a Mustang forum but maybe someone has some advise here on my options, It will be on a f150 forum shortly too.

Last few days I've noticed when I go over a bump, the rear end rattles alot more than usual....stuck my head behind my 33s today to find out that my stock, probably original 70k shocks have decided to leak so its time to upgrade.

If I had the money I'd just do a complete suspension but since I plan on going with 35s soon, I might as well find shocks that can handle it. If anyone recommends anything or has ideas let me know.

Yeah?

I just read about the Bilstein 5100s and that they were good.....I wonder if the Raptor shocks would fit, the Fox Racings ones? I believe Gas Shocks

Found them!

yeah price is what kills, from what I see, only the back 2 are bad so I'd just replace the rear. If it was $380 for both of the rear (which I think its individual) then its definitely not worth it. Rick can probably get them for me for less but only good if it comes in a set of 2.

Well another option, cough cough with 4 more inches of height: http://www.f150forum.com/f38/rancho-...4-6-kit-61621/

Or just get the right version of these: http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/RS9000XL.html

Pretty sweet deal....Sitewide sell too....very tempting

how about replacing them with OEM ones if you don't have the cash? 70k miles is a lotta miles on the stocker, so maybe stockers would go another 70k

Good point but I can get these instead, stock will probably be just as pricey and not improve my ride http://www.4wheelparts.com/prodDetai...ockingRS9000XL

Technically they don't work with my truck since I have a body lift.....so thats why I'm looking for something that will handle 35s while improving ride quality....I think that may be the route to go if I don't do a suspension lift. Rancho is also offering visa giftcards on top of the money I save with this site, so maybe....have to see what I can do.

Here's what I really want: http://www.gorancho.com/suspension.p..._f150_4wd#lift

it will fix my current suspension issue with the tie rods wearing out incorrectly due ot the body lift, so it's either spend another 1000 this year on that or a complete suspension fix for 1900 (Original $2700 - on Sale) minus $500 visa gift card until August 2011. Now I just need a FT job lol
