Default WTB: car cover

I need a car cover for either my 72 chevelle or 06 mustang. I only have room for one in the garage so the other needs to be stored outside

I bought a cover from Walmart for $30 for my 06. Worked well to keep the dirt off, just wait till it warms up before trying to take it off in the winter.

My vote is to keep the Chevelle indoors

definitely a car cover for the mustang is easier....watch out what you buy, covercraft is good but stay away from any blue fabric covers (looks like breatheable waterproof but its not) sold by many local stores including autozone. It is garbage, I had mine for a few months and with all the rain, the color washed away and the blue ink from the cover was coming off all over my car!

Ripped it apart and spent $300 on a black and yellow cover from coverking, lasted me over a year, elasticity fell apart, warranty repair time came and they lost my cover so they sent me a brand new one...(elasticity on them is definitely garbage but warranty is good...loses it holds too quickly making the cover take off in the wind)

Best investment was my Covercraft Noah cover (great warranty!) which I bought when they were fixing my yellow and black one. About $200+. Custom fabbed to the car without the antenna hole. Very thick so not much water gets in but I have heard about this cover sticking to the paint in the winter when it snows (unlike with my coverking cover which is like nylon or something). I will test out the Noah in the winter and see.

Sorry for the rant, just my opinion, don't buy too cheap unless you get covercraft, coverking, or some other major brand (they do sell covers in stores from them that aren't custom to your car so they will dance in the wind and you will need a cable and lock to keep it on the car. Price between $40 and $100 for a non-custom one.

Just my 2 cents, since I don't have a garage to keep mine and mine sits outside, 5 years old and the paint looks almost brand new.

+1 on the Coverking & Covercraft ones. I have one indoor cover (Coverking) that is satin I use in the garage. I also have the Covercraft one (outdoor) I use when taking the stang either on vacation or visiting my stepson in Chicago. If using the outdoor cover it's a must to get a tiedown for it. Not a bigfan of the cable locks for this as they are a bit loose. I use a large bunge cord and just put that thru the holes to hold it down. My last trip to Chicago there was a lot of wind and the cover stayed put.

Don' t go cheap.... it the long run you'll spend more on replacing cheap ones and fixing the damage they cause. By a quality one and be done with it.
